Volunteering here at Kalamazoo Gospel Ministries means feeding the hungry, clothing the needy and being there for those who need a helping hand.
Volunteers will help with many tasks, including serving food, washing dishes, collecting meal trays, sweeping and mopping, and helping to sort and put away incoming food deliveries in our warehouse.
Volunteers at our two thrift stores help receive community donations of gently used clothes, shoes and household goods, along with sorting and organizing them and displaying them out on the sales floor.
Volunteers who love being around babies can help in our Mission daycare, helping staff as they play games, read stories, teach basic lessons, feed and clean up after our young ones.
Volunteers who are handy and willing to assist with whatever’s needed from unclogging toilets to figuring out heating and cooling problems would be a great fit to help our maintenance team.
Volunteers with a heart for those in need can help our staff at night as they check-in people who are staying at KGM, engaging them relationally to provide meaningful conversation, prayer, or assistance. Volunteer opportunities in our Shelter are a ministry-focused opportunity and require a personal relationship with Jesus and an agreement with our statement of faith.
At KDC our Direct Response Servant (DRS) works directly with our guests to help them with whatever it is they are in need of. If you are someone who is great at problem-solving and helping others, we need you! This is a ministry-focused opportunity and requires a personal relationship with Jesus and an agreement with our statement of faith.
