Sonshine Kids
Sonshine Kids Ministry is a service to the parents of the Family Hope Discipleship Program, the Women’s and Family Shelter, and a ministry to the children themselves. We also provide child care service to Kalamazoo Gospel Mission employees. Children are allowed to attend the program for as long as their parents reside or work at KGM.
As the parents go through changes learning to cope with life without substance abuse in Family Hope and search for jobs and housing in the shelter, we provide a place in which the children can have the stability of being in the same place and with the same people everyday. Our schedule includes a different Bible story and learning theme each month. We have a goal that each child develops a strong foundation on which to make good choices. The Sonshine Kids Ministry staff is committed to loving the children, teaching them God’s Word, and helping them learn to make good decisions now in order to prepare them for the rest of their lives.
